 THE PURPOSE

I wanted to create a space for my creativity to run freely and inspire others to do the same—a chance to reflect on the work I have accomplished while honing in on my interests. If you found yourself here, reading this blurb, thank you for supporting my mission!

Brief Background in Journalism

While writing for my high school newspaper, I gained a fundamental understanding of journalism and decided to enhance my writing skills further during my sophomore year of college, joining The Pace Press as a staff writer in Spring 2021. I was promoted to News Editor shortly after and was elected Secretary, Events, and Social Media Manager for the 2021-2022 academic year. While serving this position, I received the Gerard Cannon Award, 2nd Place in Journalism in Pace University’s English Department Writing Awards, for my published article, “WTF is an NFT?”.

I was elected President, Editor-in-Chief for the 2022-2023 academic year when I was awarded the Sarah Willis Award, 2nd Place in Journalism for my published articles “University Hosts Historical 2022 NYS Gubernatorial Debate” and “Remembering DJ Henry at Third Annual Social Justice Week.” While I spearheaded the collegiate newspaper, The Pace Press was awarded the Dean Emanual Heller Meritorious Service Award, awarded to the student organization that demonstrates outstanding collective participation in University and community affairs.
